The
Masters begins on Friday with 24 players now involved in the traditional season opener and as a result, we take a look at the highest match
averages in the history of the tournament.
As expected,
Michael van Gerwen dominates proceedings with a high of 112.49 during his 2015 Final win over Raymond van Barneveld.
He has four out of the top five highest averages with
Phil Taylor following on with 110.05 in the 2014, First Round against Wes Newton.
Taylor appears twice more in the list both in 2013 when he defeated Adrian Lewis 10-1 in the final.
Gary Anderson and
Dave Chisnall are the only other two players on the list.
For Anderson, he hit 109.74 against Benito van de Pas in the 2017 First Round while Chisnall hit 108.09 in a losing effort to Michael van Gerwen back in 2015.
