Michael van Gerwen won't claim a hat-trick of PDC Summer Series title wins today after losing out in the first round on Day Four.

Van Gerwen was imperious on Day Three defeating Jose de Sousa in the final having also won on Day One with victory over Peter Wright.

Many would have expected the World Number One to potentially claim another on Saturday; but Joe Murnan accounted for him in the first round in Milton Keynes.

Murnan only averaged 88 to MVG's 92; but still claimed a 6-3 victory over the World Number One to blow proceedings wide open even at this early stage.
