Van Gerwen eases past Suljovic to reach final in Amsterdam

Michael van Gerwen has eased into the final at the World Series of Darts Finals defeating Mensur Suljovic in an 11-4 victory.

Van Gerwen averaged 105.3 and hit five 180's in an excellent display from the World Number One and he will take on either Danny Noppert or Dave Chisnall in the final later.

Suljovic started the game by taking a 2-1 lead as he pounced on a slow start from Mighty Mike but Van Gerwen gained a first break of throw to establish a 3-2 lead with a 105 average at the start.

It was three consecutive legs for MVG as he went 4-2 ahead and the one way traffic continued as Van Gerwen landed tops for a 5-2 lead with a break of throw.

MVG started to miss darts at double and Suljovic took a break back but he couldn't pounce on this and he went 7-3 up as a result with six out of the last seven legs going the way of the World Champion.

Van Gerwen went further clear with another break at 9-4 up and it was up for Mensur to apply the pressure from here but he couldn't and this allowed MVG to go one away from the final and he didn't give Suljovic another opportunity claiming an excellent win.
