Van Gerwen gains revenge over King, Price sees off under par Petersen at European Darts Grand Prix

The action continues at the European Darts Grand Prix with Michael van Gerwen gaining revenge over Mervyn King.

Van Gerwen lost out to King during the German Darts Championship but avenged that defeat with a 6-1 win over the Bradwell ace.

Mighty Mike averaged 94 with his doubling his strong point. He hit 50% to reach the Last 16 with King hitting 1/6 as he fell to the World Number One.

Gerwyn Price is through after seeing off a below par Devon Petersen. The Welshman hit an average of 95.5 and hit a 150 checkout as he saw off ‘The African Warrior’ who previously had the better of ‘The Iceman’ including during his maiden European Tour triumph.

While Mensur Suljovic produced a quality display and the highest average of the weekend so far in 105.4 during victory over David Evans 6-3. En route, he hit six 180’s in seeing off the debutant who saw off Kai Gotthardt to begin his campaign on Friday.

Also James Wade edged past home favourite Gabriel Clemens with a 101 average to reach the Last 16. The German averaged 100.5 but came up short in a 6-4 defeat to ‘The Machine’.
