Van Gerwen praises Whitlock after World Grand Prix defeat: "I haven't seen him play better often"

Simon Whitlock produced a phenomenal display to ease past Michael van Gerwen and reach the World Grand Prix semi-finals.
Whitlock had an average of over 100 and will now face off against Dirk van Duijvenbode in the semi-finals.
This is something that while Van Gerwen didn't anticipate, he had to applaud: "I didn't even play that bad myself, but Simon was great tonight, I haven't seen him play better often. From the beginning I was under pressure and I couldn't answer that", said 'MVG' to RTL 7.
"I failed on the doubles myself, but most of all kudos to him", Van Gerwen continued.
