Van Gerwen produces stunning display to see off Wade, Suljovic survives match darts in dramatic decider against Ratajski

Michael van Gerwen has returned to form with a stunning display to see off James Wade to reach the semi-finals at the International Darts Open.

Van Gerwen had gone 12 consecutive games without a ton plus average and rode his luck at times during the past two European Tour events but smashed in a 102 average with 66% on the doubles.

This 66% on the doubles included two ton plus checkouts including a 144 and despite a 99 average and 50% on the doubles from 'The Machine', he couldn't dispel the charge of the World Number One.

One player who will hope he can stop this charge is Mensur Suljovic who faces him for the second week running. Mighty Mike won with ease last time out to reach the final and so 'The Gentle' will hope for revenge.

This after coming through a tough tie against Krzysztof Ratajski. He survived five missed match darts from Ratajski who hit a 102.2 average and won through in a decider 6-5 with a 99.6 average and 6/9 on the doubles.
