Michael van Gerwen is set to become a father again next year, it has been revealed with the World Number One announcing the news on Twitter today.
Van Gerwen announced the news while he is currently taking a holiday in Mykonos in Greece; which is why he didn't play in the International Darts Open in Riesa last weekend.
'Mighty Mike' alongside his wife Daphne welcomed their daughter Zoe to the world in 2017 and in the image he shared today it had foot prints and dates of birth for him, his wife, their daughter and also their new arrival. Earlier this year, Van Gerwen stated his desire to extend his family but admitted that it is difficult to do so.
“We really want another child and are going through a medical process. People often think that having a child is a matter of course, but it is not. In addition, it is of course difficult that I'm away from home often, "said the triple world champion in an interview with Story.

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
