Van Gerwen signals intentions after Ashton win: “I'm not coming back, I am back”

Michael van Gerwen was merciless as he whitewashed Lisa Ashton in double quick time to begin his Grand Slam of Darts campaign.
This featured an average of just under 106 and when asked post match if he’s coming back to his best, he said he’s fully back.
"I'm not coming back, I am back," said Van Gerwen, a three-time Grand Slam winner.
"I've been playing well recently. I'm happy, I'm concentrated and I'm feeling good. The first game is always difficult. Lisa is a credit to women's sport and I had to stay focused but I did the job."
