Michael van Gerwen is the new leader during the regular season in the 2022 Premier League Darts after winning the weekly title for a second week in a row.
In Brighton, he defeated James Wade (6-1), Joe Cullen (6-1) and Michael Smith (6-4). This puts him on 14 points after five weeks which is four points ahead of Peter Wright and Jonny Clayton.
James Wade and Gerwyn Price are both on seven points. Price did not play in Brighton due to a hand injury. Joe Cullen and Michael Smith are on five points, while Gary Anderson ends the table with two points.
The eight participants play a tournament sixteen times. It is classified in such a way that a player meets the other participants twice in a quarterfinal. During two weeks of play, in the eighth and sixteenth weeks, the draw will be made on the basis of the score.
Points can be scored with results during the sixteen tournaments. A semi-final earns two points, a second place three points and a tournament win five points and a £10,000 bonus.
Based on these points, the new
Premier League Darts ranking is formed. The top four players advance to the Premier League Darts play-offs.
