Van Peer on overcoming dartitis: "I really hope I can inspire people"

The continued resurgence of Berry van Peer has been one of the feel good darting stories of 2023. Overcoming dartitis to possibly even become a better player than he was previously the future now looks bright for the Dutchman.

Taking the Dutch Open in the WDF and impressing on the European Tour, van Peer has been improving a lot recently. "I'm definitely more consistent than years before," the Dutchman tells Dan Dawson and the Darts Show Podcast.

"It was really awful of course," he says in reference to his dartitis struggles. "I was playing really well and it came out of nowhere, it was awful. I wouldn't wish this on anyone."

"I'm trying to help people with it nowadays so that's nice," he continues. "I have some tics that I need to do before I throw it. Like I just take another extra step or take a little extra time to deal with it."

"I would say it's really tough to get through but I really hope I can inspire people," says van Peer.
