Van Veen misses Players Championship tournament due to school obligation

On Monday and Tuesday, Players Championship 15 and 16 will be played in Leicester. Gian van Veen will only be in action at one of these tournaments.
On Twitter, Van Veen announced that he will only compete in Players Championship 15 on Monday. ''I will not participate in Players Championship 16 due to obligations at college unfortunately. Let's try and make the most out of one tournament,'' the Dutchman wrote.
Van Veen is in his first season as a Tour Card holder this year. The 21-year-old darter is doing so very creditably. In his first six months he earned 26,500 pounds in prize money, only 37 darters on the PDC Tour earned more prize money in the first half of the season.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
