Rob Cross is into the Last 16 of the PDC
World Darts Championship after downing Daryl Gurney in a thrilling 4-3 win sealing it with a 170 checkout, a 99.7 average and 13 180's on the way.
The 170 checkout in particular came to win it as Cross seals his spot in the latter stages with a second World title in his sights.
Cross began the match with an incredible first set hitting finishes of 147, 76 and 80 en route to a 1-0 lead.
He took out 108 in the deciding leg in the second set to double his lead and put Gurney in a bit of trouble early on.
But this trouble soon diminished as Gurney halved the deficit averaging 98 at the time. Another set went the distance as Cross this time pinched it again to make it 3-1.
Gurney though took another set and forced a decider with Cross squandering a two-leg lead and three match darts allowing 'Superchin' to stay alive with a 76 checkout to make it 3-3.
This is when Cross found some of his best form with a burst including an 89 checkout and 116 checkout. Gurney returned the favour but Cross sealed the deal with a 170 checkout.
