VIDEO: De Zwaan bizarrely busts score twice in a row during European Darts Matchplay

Jeffrey de Zwaan went down in the third round of the European Darts Matchplay last weekend. Afterwards, people on social media were mainly talking about two bizarre throws by the Dutchman.

De Zwaan fell behind 1-0 in the third round against Ian White and had 31 left in the next leg while White was nowhere near a finish. De Zwaan went for a single fifteen to leave double eight, however he threw treble fifteen.

“He should have been nowhere near treble 15,” said the PDC commentator.

However when he got another chance to finish the leg, he hit double 15 before cracking a wry smile. “An overcompensation from Jeffrey de Zwaan, he’s managed to bust on the 15 set-up twice in consecutive visits,” added the commentator.

Fans on social media were as stunned as De Zwaan. “Can happen to the best of us,” tweeted one while another added: “It even happens to the pros.” A third noticed: “Kirk Bevins [referee] almost burst out laughing after the second visit!”
