Chris Dobey has been predicted a great future in darts for years. 'Hollywood' is currently 31st in the world rankings, but wants to rise again soon.
"I've struggled to hit above the 100 average mark this year, I don't know what's the matter with us. I think I need to change to a more grippier dart, I think the grip may have worn out and they're slipping out my hand a bit. Everything is great back home now, of course everybody goes through personal issues and I've had mine as everybody does and hopefully I can dedicate myself more to the game more," said Dobey to Online Darts.
The Bedlington ace though has some clear goals for the rest of the year as he looks to return to his best which starts at Blackpool.
"It's the one that everyone wants of course. in luxurious Blackpool," he said with a smile. "Last year it was absolutely boiling hot and I think I kind of got sun stroke before my game with Joe. It'll be nice to get back there."
"Getting another title under my belt, I want to be in all the TV majors. Push for that European Championship spot, Get myself into more European Tours and hopefully kick on to go further in those type of competitions."
Busy Calendar
Recently, some top players, including Peter Wright, have complained about the over-crowded PDC calendar.
"You're going to get that because with the calendar it's European Tours, Premier League, ProTours etc, it's always been like that. Me myself I'm not in everything so I can't judge that but I get why the top lads are tired but I'd love to be in that position as they're out there making a living and I'm sat watching it at home."
