Matthew Edgar has posted a new video online on his YouTube channel 'Edgar TV'. In it, he explains more about the prize money to be earned on the Pro Tour and also the costs involved.
Edgar was a pro player himself for many years, so he is well placed to estimate prize money and costs on the Pro Tour. "Other than your transportation and hotel, there really aren't that many costs," Edgar says. "Everything is offset against the prize money you get."
"If you see that ten years ago the winner of the PDC World Darts Championship got £200,000 and now already £500,000, there has been a huge evolution. The total prize money on the whole Pro Tour has also increased enormously. The top 64 earn at least about 30, 000 pounds a year and you can still live pretty well on that."
