Ryan Searle was facing off against Nathan Rafferty in a winner takes all clash at the
Grand Slam of Darts, but found his way to make it special with a
nine-dart finish.
'Heavy Metal' did it to win the clash against the Northern Irishman as he found his way through Group D to reach the Last 16 and sent the crowd into pandemonium as a result.
He even took a selfie post match with the crowd on his phone as he soaked in the acclaim at the Aldersley Leisure Village.
In the match, after a smooth 3-0 lead for Searle, Rafferty came back to 4-3. Searle was allowed to start the eighth leg and 'Heavy Metal' did so excellently with two 180 scores. He then also managed to throw a 141 finish to complete his nine-dart finish.
Searle's nine-dart finish can be called the heaviest nine darter ever. He throws 34-gram darts, no darter on the professional darts circuit throws such heavy darts.
