Luke Humphries was allowed onto the pitch of his favorite football club Leeds United on Sunday to present the Sid Waddell Trophy to Leeds United fans.
Humphries captured this trophy in early January by winning the world title at the expense of Luke Littler. Then "Cool Hand Luke" received an invitation from Leeds to visit. The 28-year-old accepted the invitation and was allowed to walk around the pitch with the World title.
Such a tribute for a dart player is not a new phenomenon. For example, Michael van Gerwen was already honored once in the Philips Stadium (of soccer club PSV) after winning a world title.
