Luke Littler continues to provide the sublime and the spectacular albeit this was a near miss in multiple ways at the Grand Slam of Darts as he fell short of a nine-dart finish and nearly lost the leg.
Littler is facing off against Jermaine Wattimena in the race to 16 for a spot in Sunday's finals day where the semi-finals get played in the afternoon and the final in the evening.
But 'The Nuke' was in no mood to give anything to his opponent albeit despite nearly hitting perfection, he nearly lost the leg.
Littler with his effortless throw hit 180, 180. He missed double 12 going just inside albeit he had trouble finishing it off. What could've been perfect was a 16-darter as Wattimena missed 113 on double 20. After having his own arms aloft at the prospect of Littler hitting a nine-dart finish, he nearly pinched it himself.
But Littler finally got through it. He currently leads 4-1 though as of time of writing with a 104 average, potentially a long night for the European Championship finalist.
