Luke Littler continues to show why he is the hottest darting property on the planet after the most one-sided scoreline in Grand Slam Quarter-Final history. He breezed past
Jermaine Wattimena 16-2 and will now face the winner of Gary Anderson and Gian van Veen.
Littler suffered criticism from some junctures before the tournament for his poor record in majors despite some horror draws in recent months. But he has proven those doubters firmly wrong as he will be favourite going into Finals Sunday.
He fired in a 105.1 average and 12 maximums en route to seeing off the Dutchman who stood no chance against the barrage put on by 'The Nuke'.
After nearly hitting a nine-dart finish in the early going, Littler firmly set out his stall. He hit seven 180's in the opening five legs to surge three clear with a 104 average at 4-1.
He hit an eighth maximum to continue that power scoring prowess. He hit a 167 checkout to follow to extend his lead to 5-1 after the first break as he continued to rattle off the legs.
Wattimena finally replied with a fourth 180 and an 84 checkout for an 11-darter but unbeknownst to him, it was his last leg he won. Littler surged further clear with a 164 checkout adding to his tally going 8-2 up with a 107 average and 10 180's.
It was eight legs on the spin at the next interval as he went past double figures and up to 13-2. He was still sat at around the 105 mark not reducing his average an iota. It was a flourish to finish too from the World finalist.
He thumped in a 110 checkout using 19, treble 17, double 20 to seal the win. The most one-sided Quarter-Final in Grand Slam history, top that Anderson and Van Veen.
