Michael van Gerwen made a perfect start to his match against Martin Lukeman in the second round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy on Saturday night. In the first leg, "Mighty Mike" managed to throw a nine darter.
Van Gerwen entered the Hungarian capital with his new darts, which he has been using since this week. The 35-year-old Dutchman started the match with two 180 scores and then threw the necessary 141 finish to complete the perfect leg.
It is already the 29th nine-darter in his career for Van Gerwen. His previous perfect leg was against Luke Humphries in the final of the Players Championship Finals in 2023.
The three-time world champion is already the second player to manage to throw a nine-darter at this Hungarian Darts Trophy. Earlier on Saturday, Cor Dekker also produced a leg in nine darts.
