James Wade has assured himself of
Premier League Darts survival after coasting past early pacesetter Jonny Clayton in a 7-2 win as he heads into the top four.
Wade claimed victory with a 105.3 average and three 180's in yet another classy display from 'The Machine' who has gone from potentially being in relegation trouble early on to a potential play-off place.
To begin the tie, Wade was the quicker starter out of the two doubling his lead with an 11-dart break and despite missing seven darts at double, he consolidated that break by moving 3-0 clear.
Clayton finally got off the mark at 3-1 down but was down by three legs again at 4-1 after Wade pinned his favourite double 10.
But Wade continued his brilliance by assuring himself of survival and a point with a 101 checkout on double 12 with Clayton waiting on double 11. Before Wade secured victory to finalise an epic display.
