Wade inflicts fifth straight Premier League defeat on Durrant with routine display

James Wade has ended his first block of Premier League Darts action on five points after inflicting a fifth straight defeat on Glen Durrant.

Wade won through 7-3 with 50% on the doubles and is currently alongside Anderson and Cross after back-to-back wins to arrest his indifferent start as a late call-up to this year's tournament.

Wade missed tops for a 120 checkout to begin the tie but returned to land double 10 second dart to begin the tie after Durrant missed double 12 for an 84 checkout.

Durrant cleaned up 52 following that on double 16 to level but was suddenly 3-1 down after hitting the treble 18 instead of the single when looking at a 110 checkout.

Wade cleaned up 64 on double 20 to break throw and followed it up with a 152 checkout to head into a 4-1 lead.

Durrant's double trouble continued as he missed bull for a 122 checkout and Wade hit a 74 finish to move four clear.

It was the latter's turn to miss the chance for a point and Durrant gave himself a potential lifeline with double 18 for 5-2.

He landed double one in the requisite leg to ask the question of Wade at 5-3 down but 'The Machine' answered with a 56 checkout on double 20.

Wade concluded the win from there though clinching it 7-4 to leave Durrant rooted to the bottom of the table.
