Luke Humphries starred again on Saturday night in the second round of the
Baltic Sea Darts Open. In the second round of the
European Tour event in Kiel, 'Cool Hand Luke' was a 6-1 winner over Sebastian Bialecki.
Humphries, who was last year's losing finalist in Kiel, threw an average of 103. Moreover, the 29-year-old Englishman also missed the double 12 for a nine-darter during the match.
''I was gutted to miss the nine-darter,'' Humphries responded afterwards. The reigning world champion did manage to throw a 10-darter and a 12-darter. ''You do feel a little bit of nerves because you want to give the crowd something special. It would have been a great moment, but regardless of that, it was a really good performance.”
On Sunday afternoon, Humphries will play in the last sixteen against Ross Smith, who in turn dealt with Luke Woodhouse (6-4). Humphries won the Euro Tour tournament in Munich earlier this year.
