Mike Warburton is the latest winner in the Icons of Darts League after a successful day which saw the World Masters semi-finalist claim 10 points en route to claiming the day.
Boris Koltsov who ended up his nearest rival had to win both of his remaining games after Warburton finished his day early on with a 4-3 win over Ritchie Edhouse.
It was Edhouse who actually did Warburton a favour by defeating Koltsov in a 4-2 win to diminish any hope of him topping the group. The Russian ace went out with a 4-1 win over Jose Justicia with a 100 average but it was the Welshman who claimed it.
It was a great day overall for Warburton who defeated Fallon Sherrock (4-1), Jarred Cole (4-3) before suffering his only defeat of the day 4-3 to Scott Marsh who finished fourth.
From there he wasn't dispelled as he won his final three games against Boris Koltsov (4-2), Jose Justicia (4-2) and the aforementioned win over Edhouse which sealed it.
Edhouse himself who won the first group of the week finished third with four wins and two defeats also but was a few legs off second spot on leg difference. Jarred Cole finished behind Scott Marsh on two wins and four defeats level with Fallon Sherrock while Jose Justicia rounded out proceedings.
There will be 21 games a day which will be best of 7 legs. Pool A will take part on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It begins everyday as a result at 10:30 am running till 5:30 pm and sees live action continue for four more weeks than initially planned.
The scores are recorded during matches via a webcam with this then uploaded to various scoring services and bookmakers who are all showing the action. The livestream is provided by organiser MODUS .
