Jermaine Wattimena continued his brilliant rise last night by defeating Peter Wright in what was a stunning display to reach a maiden major Quarter-Final at the World Grand Prix.

Wattimena defeated Adrian Lewis in the first round but in his post match interview, he said that it goes one step further.

He added that from his perspective, he has proven that he can play on stage but that he has a tough test next when he plays Glen Durrant.

'I thought Adrian Lewis was my biggest win ever, that goes one step further now,' said Wattimena to LiveDarts.

'Peter Wright is a really good player and I've never beat him on stage. Now I've proven I can play on stage.'

'Last year I played against Gary Anderson and I played really well. Everyone could see it and now it came out.'

'Of course I'm over the moon but I've got another big match against Glen Durrant. Teammate of course and I hope I will play well.'
