Aspinall spoke afterwards and admitted that it was really tough and that he knew it was going to be that from the outset.
It was 'The Asp's daughter's birthday and he also spoke about missing that and that it brought an emotional side out as he wanted to win so badly for her and that it made him struggle at times as a result.
'It was a really tough game, I thought it was a high contest game I don't know how the averages went. I felt it was a battle for both of us,' said Aspinall to LiveDarts.
'Danny played really well. I know I had a tough game I watched him against Daryl, his finishing was superb. I knew I had to put him under pressure and that didn't happen and my game plan changed.'
'All my family are back in Stockport celebrating my daughter's second birthday. I can't be there and I've had a lot of emotion today. Darts means everything to me but I wanted to be there and I couldn't and it's maybe why I struggled a bit at crucial times because I wanted to win so much for her.'
