Wattimena not dissatisfied despite Price World Matchplay defeat: "He is not world champion for nothing"

Jermaine Wattimena was knocked out on Saturday evening in the first round of the World Matchplay by World Champion, Gerwyn Price (10-4).

For Wattimena though it was already unexpected to be at the World Matchplay due to Mensur Suljovic withdrawing and he wasn't left too dissatisfied after his performance.

"A good feeling prevails. I felt some pressure on my shoulders, but Gerwyn Price is of course not just any player. He is not world champion for nothing," Wattimena told RTL 7.

It was The Machine Gun's first major game since he underwent a massive transformation. Wattimena has lost more than thirty kilos in the first months of this season.

"I notice that in my game. It takes some time. I already feel fitter and hopefully that will improve my game. I'm already sweating a lot less and I feel better, but my game is a little less. Hopefully that will come back soon, because I didn't think it was too bad tonight."
