Michael van Gerwen in terms of major titles has been the dominant force again in a year where he had to have surgery on his arm and has faced shouts of potentially being a spent force due to not winning as frequently.
But going into this years World Darts Championship, he will resume his favourite status and finally attempt to seal a fourth World title which Wayne Mardle and Mark Webster believe he has every chance of sealing.
“Nothing’s changed even more confirmed it, I think Michael van Gerwen wins his fourth,” said Mardle.
“He’s been so dominant but I think it will eat away at him that he’s only got three World titles. But I’m going to have to agree with Wayne on this. It would complete the year for him, back in the winners’ circle.,” said Webster.
“The Premier League, the World Grand Prix, the World Matchplay and now the Players Championship Finsls and it would cap off a fine year if he lifted that trophy.”
