The
Premier League Darts will kick off early next month. The eight participants include the talk of the darting world,
Luke Littler.
The now, 17-year-old Littler was in the
World Darts Championship final earlier this month and won the
Bahrain Darts Masters more recently, where he also threw a nine-darter. "We're witnessing something very, very special and I think we just have to enjoy it," said former Premier League Darts winner
Glen Durrant. "I've promised myself not to talk about his age because he's just generational. I couldn't take the smile of my face watching him."
"What impresses me most, it's not the nine-darters, I know he could do that. It's not the big averages, I've seen him do that, it's the level of maturity that he's displaying," 'Duzza' continues. "It's an incredible story and absolutely beautiful for the game of darts."
At the age of 17, a lot has been thrust on young shoulders. Durrant however, finds it difficult to give the teen any advice. "I've more got advice for the people around him, he's going to be away from home six days a week," he explains. "But at 16, all I wanted to do was play darts. So I don't fear about the health and wellbeing of a teen travelling around Europe playing darts."
Finally, Durrant has no doubts about Littler's chances for the upcoming Premier League Darts. "He's good enough to go and win it! It's scary."
