Wesley Plaisier triumphs for second time this season on Challenge Tour

The nineteenth tournament of the PDC Challenge Tour season came down to Wesley Plaisier on Saturday night. He took the title by defeating Lee Cocks (5-3) in the final.

Plaisier qualified for the final of this tournament by successively defeating Brian Verhelst (5-0), Reece Colley (5-0), Peter Jacques (5-3), Niall Culleton (5-0), David Davies (5-2), Andy Hamilton (5-3) and Jimmy van Schie (5-3). Cocks settled with Lee Grace (5-0), Kevin Lowe (5-2), Scott Waites (5-2), Trevor Burkhill (5-3), Andy Boulton (5-4) and Charlie Martin (5-2).

In the final, Plaisier initially found himself down 2-3 against Cocks. The Dutchman then held his own leg with a 16-darter, before beating his English opponent with a 13-darter. Plaisier then finished it off in his own leg with a 14-darter.

The Challenge Tour circuit is open to players who participated in the Q-School but did not win a Tour Card. On this tour, starting tickets for the 2024 Pro Tour and Tour Cards for 2025 and 2026 can be earned.

The highest-ranked players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit qualify for the reserve spots at the Players Championship tournaments.
