"What she's achieved in the game has been nothing short of amazing" - Rob Cross lauds praise on Fallon Sherrock ahead of their Grand Slam of Darts meeting

At the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts, Rob Cross has been drawn in a very interesting group. For 'Voltage', matches with Michael van Gerwen, Martijn Kleermaker and Fallon Sherrock await.

It's that tie with the trailblazing former Women's World Matchplay champion that seemingly excites Cross the most. "Fallon is amazing," he tells Sky Sports. "What she's achieved in the game has been nothing short of amazing and she's done it all on merit."

As is often the case when the top male players face off with the likes of Sherrock and Beau Greaves, who also competes at the Grand Slam of Darts, the crowd is likely to be heavily behind the women. Although this has proven challenging to some players in the past, Cross has no fear.

"They should get behind her!" Cross says. "There's only two women represented there and it's good for the game if they do well, taking my bias away from the conversation."

"She's just amazing. She goes in there, performs, holds herself so well and what she's done for the game in the time that she's been here, it's superb."
