Glen Durrant, himself a former semifinalist at the Grand Slam of Darts, predicts a difficult group stage for Wright and 'Duzza' is especially keen to see Buntz perform. "How will he express himself? Because it's a big stage and when you're playing the Peter Wright's of this world, you can hide," Durrant told
Sky Sports. "The first leg could be crucial. If he can go one-nil up, he might be able to relax and express his personality. But yeah, he's an interesting one."
However, Durrant does believe in Wright's chances of winning the final. "In his interview (after winning the European Championship ed.), he said he realises he's over 50, his game was going downhill quickly and many players that age have no longer got their Tour Cards," Durrant recalls. "I sat there and I thought, it could be aimed at me!"
"But that it's a tough draw should be obvious," continued 'Duzza'. "With also Stephen Bunting and Dave Chisnall, there are two players in that group who have been in excellent form in recent months. I'm really looking forward to seeing who survives that group stage."
