Simon Whitlock produced another incredible display to down Michael van Gerwen and reach the Quarter-Finals of the New South Wales Darts Masters in Wollongong.
Whitlock edged out Van Gerwen in a decider and it was his fifth straight win over Van Gerwen and afterwards he was understandably delighted.
“That was super good. To beat Michael five times in a row is sensational,” said Whitlock.
“I was saying to myself: ‘You’re playing the best again now, so you have got to perform.’
“I had a little bit of luck, but I will take it. That was a hard-earned win, and it was all about belief.”
