Just throwing a single 180 score is an achievement for most of us, but throwing a 180 at the
World Darts Championship, let alone hundreds of maximum scores on the stage of Alexandra Palace, is just a dream. But who has fired in the most maximums in Ally Pally's history?
Since the World Darts Championship moved to London,
Gary Anderson has thrown the most 180 scores on the world's biggest stage. Already 513 times 'The Flying Scotsman' managed to throw a maximum score at 'Ally Pally', according to calculations made by statistics platform
Darts Orakel. His rival
Michael van Gerwen comes second with 482 maximums. Under favourable circumstances, the Dutchman could try to knock the Scot off the throne at the upcoming World Darts Championship.
Adrian Lewis is number three on the list. He threw the highest possible score 385 times at Alexandra Palace. That is where 'Jackpot' will remain for at least another year, as Lewis will not be there at the World Darts Championship due to the temporary break he's taking in his career.
Michael Smith has already secured fourth place in the rankings. Especially over the past two seasons, 'Bullyboy' threw sharply at the World Darts Championship. During the past two editions, he threw 149 of his total 351 maximum scores at the World Darts Championship.
Raymond van Barneveld rounds out the top five with 310 maximum scores at Alexandra Palace.
