Winmau announces signing of German star Hempel: ''Felt I needed to make another change''

Florian Hempel has signed a contract with darts manufacturer Winmau Darts, the current PDC board supplier has announced.

The German joins a stable where many top darts players are under contract. The likes of Michael van Gerwen, Danny Noppert, Joe Cullen, Daryl Gurney, Simon Whitlock and Vincent van der Voort throw with Winmau darts.

After 2 years at Bull's, I felt I needed to make another change and take the next step in my career'', says Hempel on his Instagram page. ''The interviews with Winmau started early in the year. They were very intense from the beginning and my visit to Wales (to the Winmau headquarter) was very impressive! The story behind this company is very long and exciting!''
