World Matchplay is Price's favourite tournament: "It's not a very big crowd but the atmosphere is incredible"

The World Matchplay gets underway next Saturday in Blackpool. Gerwyn Price will take on Stephen Bunting in his opening match.

Price lost 18-14 to Michael van Gerwen in last year's World Matchplay final. "For me it's all about how I play on the day. I'm not afraid of anyone anymore whereas I probably was four or five years ago. I know if I play my a-game, I bring that to the table there's only one person that can win and that's me."

"Even though in the early stages of my career I didn't really do well in the Matchplay, it's one of my favourite venues. The family come up for the week, the kids are off school, it's just a special venue as well."

"It's not a very big crowd but the atmosphere is incredible," Price continues. "I like everything about Blackpool and that tournament."
