Michael Smith won the PDC World Darts Championship only ten days ago but he is already back on the oche and in the winners' circle sealing a third World Series title and back-to-back televised titles with
Bahrain Darts Masters glory.
World Number One Smith sealed an 8-6 win over Price who he took the top spot from with 'The Iceman' sailing down to the fourth in the world. He did so with a 97 average, two 180's albeit missing 16 darts at a double throughout the tie.
Missed darts at double were a theme for Price to begin the tie with Smith helping himself to a 3-2 lead and a break of throw and the same at 4-3 with Smith allowed off the hook to lead early on.
After the interval, Smith surged away going 5-3 up with an 11-darter before breaking on double 16 for 6-3. He went one away on double one.
But squandered multiple match darts allowing Price back in to make it 7-5 followed by 7-6 for three on the spin but 97 couldn't be pinned and after previously missing more match darts, Smith returned for double five to seal it.
