Wright admits improvement is needed after Hopp win: 'The performance could have been better'

Peter Wright eased past Max Hopp to end the second night of action at the World Grand Prix in Dublin but despite that he admits improvement is needed.
Wright's issues came at the end of the game when he missed multiple match darts and he said that while it was a good win; the performance could have been better.
Despite that he said that getting through to the next round is all that counts as he will take on Jermaine Wattimena next.
"It's a good win for me because it's always tough in the first round, so I'm happy," said Wright. "The performance could have been better, but I'm through and that's all that matters."

I know a lot of darts fans who cannot stand Arsepinall, oddly I know people who don't like darts but frequently attend events for the atmosphere and have no idea who was playing. - Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation. Indicates to me that the prize money is skewed to much towards the top players, meritocracy must rule but a fair distribution of the money is needed otherwise its only ever about a select few.Mysstree09-01-2025
