Peter Wright ended Jose de Sousa's Grand Slam of Darts reign with a hard fought 10-9 win and he set up a clash with Fallon Sherrock again as a result.

Wright and De Sousa missed 38 doubles between them but 'Snakebite' snatched victory at the death with praise going to 'The Special One'.

"It wasn't nervy, I just obviously let him off the leg before when we had loads of darts at double. Obviously could have cleared it away, he gave me chances and he didn't want to give his trophy away without a fight," said Wright post match.

"Jose's an amazing guy, an amazing darts player but he's been struggling since after the Premier League. He's had a lot of muscle trouble, he said to me he's coming back though which is good, it's not good for everyone else."
