Peter Wright and
Dimitri van den Bergh have played out a draw to begin Night Four of the 2021
Premier League Darts in Milton Keynes.
A tie that saw Van den Bergh lead before Wright came back to force a tense ending, he hit a 12-darter in the decider to end the high quality contest shared. This included 12 180's and three ton-plus checkouts from the pair.
Like alluded to, Van den Bergh had a superb start to the tie going 3-1 up and breaking in style with a 160 checkout on tops after a prior 100 checkout to hold.
Wright though broke back immediately with a 121 checkout on double 18 to make it 3-2 but the back and forth breaks continued as Wright missed the bull for 126 to level and Van den Bergh restored his advantage.
It was Van den Bergh's turn to miss following that as he missed double 18 for a 76 checkout to go three clear and that was a potentially pivotal moment as Wright levelled up at 4-4.
But 'Snakebite' wasn't able to grab the match by the scruff of the neck and Van den Bergh went one away from a guaranteed point regaining the lead at 5-4.
He missed three darts to clinch a point and Wright though made it 5-5 to make for a tense end to the tie.
Wright blinked first and missed bull for a 121 checkout and Van den Bergh made sure of a point on double 18 to make it 6-5.
It wasn't the maximum haul though for Dimi as Wright hit a 12 darter to aid him to a 6-6 draw.
