Peter Wright ended his disappointing streak of three lost matches in the Premier League Darts with a stunning 8-1 victory over Michael van Gerwen.
Wright won the first five legs without response from the Dutchman as Snakebite hit two 13-dart legs, one 14-dart leg and a 15-dart leg. Van Gerwen came on the scoreboard in leg six after taking out 47, before Wright produced a clinical 74 finish and a 12-darter to move one leg away from victory.
The Scotsman didn't give Van Gerwen the chance to come back in the match as he finished the match in style with a 11-dart leg. The reigning world champion averaged over 105 with 67% on the doubles.
Following this victory the world number two overtakes his Dutch rival in the standings, however they both have fourteen points. Wright has a leg difference of +10, while Van Gerwen has -1 on leg difference.
