Peter Wright is the opening winner of the 2022 Premier League Darts after seeing off Jonny Clayton in a 6-2 win denying the defending champion on home soil.
Wright was incredible against 'The Ferret' producing his best in the final with a 121 checkout to seal it with a 113 average overall.
He made no mistake early on as he claimed the early break with a 61 checkout and followed it up with a 13-darter.
With the short format, Wright was suddenly half-way to victory after hitting 25 to pull away after Clayton missed a dart at double 20.
'Snakebite' hit seven perfect darts from there but settled on 122 to go 4-0 up and two away.
Clayton finally settled into the tie but it was too little too late as Wright went one away from the victory which he sealed with that clinical 121.
