Wright follows in Van Gerwen and Taylor's footsteps after Prague title

After his victory on Sunday evening over Dave Chisnall in the final of the Czech Darts Open, Peter Wright has joined a elite group of players to have won a ranking title for twelve consecutive years.

Winning his first ranking title of the year, Wright has now tasted victory for twelve consecutive years, something only the Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen had ever achieved before in the history of the PDC.

After a relatively disappointing start to the year for Snakebite, the Scot will be hoping that this victory in Prague can kick start a resurgence in his form as some of the Summer's big tournaments now come into focus.

Wright's victory at the Czech Darts Open comes just a few days after the 53-year-old repeated a prediction he had previously made back in 2021 when he claimed that by the end of the season he would have lifted both the World Matchplay and the World Darts Championship. His prediction came true a couple of years ago so could this, most recent success be a sign it will come true yet again?
