Wright injured himself jumping on the Premier League stage but he hit a brilliant last leg to snatch a draw from Anderson who was left on a finish and ready to inflict back to back defeats on the World Champion.
Anderson took the opening leg to begin proceedings before Wright took out 78 for 1-1. The latter though missed 160 to take the break and Anderson cleaned up to go 2-1 up.
Wright kicked off 180 on his throw but Anderson forced Wright to finish under pressure after hitting a 180 of his own in the latter half of the leg. Despite that, Wright successfully held throw.
It was an incredible standard between the pair with the dart glued to the treble 20 as Anderson hit his third 180 and Wright landed his fourth. It was the reigning World Champion though who went 3-2 up with a break of throw.
He couldn't clean up 20 though but Anderson missed the big number and Wright hit double four to hold throw and go 4-2 up.
Anderson missed the bull for a brilliant 161 but he stopped the rot with double two to go 3-4 behind. Wright though missed the chance to go 5-3 up and Anderson punished with a 70 checkout.
Anderson took the lead from there expertly to go one away from a point. Wright though sealed it up at 5-5 to make it very much level.
'The Flying Scotsman' though guaranteed himself of a point with a 50 checkout. Wright was left on a finish for a draw and he hit it to share the spoils.
