Peter Wright is the fifth player ever to win both the World Darts Championship and the World Matchplay. This past Sunday, Snakebite won the World Matchplay by beating Dimitri van den Bergh in the final.

In the past, only Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Rob Cross have also won the two showpiece tournaments.

Of these names, Taylor, Van Gerwen and Anderson also triumphed in the Premier League Darts. This prestigious tournament, together with the World Championship and the World Matchplay, is part of the so-called 'Triple Crown' of darts.

Disagree on the Premier League being part of any Triple Crown. The World Grand Prix is the third leg of the TC and i would rank the UK Open, GSOD and perhaps the European Championship also ahead of the Premier League. Premier League is not a ranking event or is it the top ten players in the World. It may have a higher pot of cash but it is basically a show and promotion event for the PDC.
