Wright joins illustrious list of players to be knocked out of Grand Slam of Darts despite multiple group stage wins

Peter Wright lost out to Nathan Aspinall last night at the Grand Slam of Darts with Alan Soutar joining him in the Last 16 which means 'Snakebite' heads home.

But for Wright, he has been eliminated in the group for the second time in the past three years but has also joined an illustrious list as a result of players to be eliminated despite winning their first two games.

The same previously happened to Wes Newton (2008), Paul Nicholson (2010), Simon Whitlock (2012), Raymond van Barneveld (2013) and Gabriel Clemens (2021).
