Peter Wright edged past Corey Cadby in a low quality affair on the opening day of action at the Melbourne Darts Masters where both players averaged in the mid 80's.

Wright spoke after the tie and admitted it was 'diabolical'; he apologised to the fans admitting that it just wasn't there.
He also spoke about facing Raymond van Barneveld in the next round; he said that if he plays like that against the Dutch legend he won't retain his title.
“Tonight was diabolical, I’m sorry and I don’t know what happened up there tonight but sometimes it just doesn’t go," said a frustrated Wright.
“I have to play Barney tomorrow and if I play anything like that then I won’t be the champion anymore.”
