Peter Wright produced a clinical display to see off Nathan Aspinall 8-5 to leapfrog him into third place in the Premier League.
The reigning world champion only missed two of his ten doubles attempts. It helped Wright turn a 3-5 deficit into an 8-5 win over Aspinall. With this win, Snakebite is on track to reach the Premier League play-offs for the first time since 2017. The Scot sits on the third place with two rounds to go.
"Nathan and I always have fantastic games, but it wasn't fantastic tonight. I'm happy with the win but not the way I played'', said Wright as he was not happy with his performance despite a 103 average.
Of course he was satisfied with the finishing. ''My doubling success comes from practice. I'm forever practicing those two-dart checkouts and it showed tonight. Practicing simple things like that is what wins you games. Hopefully I can keep that going and be hard to beat."
