Glen Durrant claimed a last gasp draw against Michael van Gerwen to put the World Number One's Premier League play-off hopes in jeopardy.
Van Gerwen broke Durrant's throw early on in the match and kept this break until the last leg. The Dutchman missed two match-darts at 7-5, but had the throw in the last 14th leg.
However, Mighty Mike failed to keep his leg within five turns. Durrant escaped via double 1 and retained his unbeaten status against the Dutchman after four matches. Van Gerwen spoke of a missed opportunity to book his first victory over Duzza.
''I'm very disappointed. When you have left 52 for the match, then you have to take that chance. He (Durrant) showed today he can be beaten easily. It's a shame I didn't win, which would be deserved. Missing one match-dart is permissible, but two... I can only blame myself for not winning this match.''
This means Van Gerwen likely has to win his two remaining matches against Gary Anderson and Daryl Gurney to qualify for the play-offs, although he has his fate not in his own hands anymore. ''I still have the confidence. I know what to do and that's winning my last two matches. It's disappointing that didn't happen now'', he added.
