By all accounts, Peter Wright didn't have a stellar 2018 season on the PDC circuit.

Snakebite won the Melbourne Darts Masters and two titles on the floor. But defeats in the final of the World Grand Prix, the Champions League and the World Cup were the best he could manage elsewhere. Wright kicks off the season with The Masters, followed by the Premier League, from which he almost suffered a shock relegation last year. With yet more new equipment in his setup, the Scot is still adjusting but feels ready to go.
"It's the first time I've played with the (new) flights and stems," he told Red Dragon Darts after Tuesday's Darts Slam in Prague.
"They're obviously a bit rusty, but there's potential in them. They're looking really good, so I'm quite happy.
"I feel hungry, refreshed. In the past few years I've been approaching the Masters and thinking 'urgh, here we go, another year'.
"But now, this year, I want to play darts. So it's like, watch out guys, I want to play darts!"
Wright met Phil Taylor for the Darts Slam exhibition, and took time to praise the 16-time world champion.
"I've been enjoying myself, playing my old pal Phil. I love him, I miss him in the game," Wright said.
"To be honest, I wouldn't have tried as hard against anyone else, you have to respect him.
"Fair play to him, he's doing what he wants to do in life rather than being told what to do."
